CIMB Political News - 15 July 2013

Five MCA division chairmen yesterday urged party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek to quit immediately to safeguard the interest and future of the party. "The party members are disappointed with the inability of Dr Chua to handle major issues affecting the MCA," they said. "MCA is in a muddle and has no direction. Our president has been a flip-flop and has no principles at all. His random statements on who shall quit and who shall stay has created confusion among the members and this is an embarrassment to the party." (Malay Mail)

The MIC has hit out at the Education Ministry over the alleged "unfair and biased" intake of Chinese and Indian students into public universities this year. Party treasurer-general Datuk Jaspal Singh said while the intake of Chinese students had dropped from an average of 25% over the years to 19%, Indian students formed only 4% of the 41,573 accepted into public universities transiting.
