Former Sime Darby chief fails to get discharge for CBT

Former Sime Darby Bhd president and group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Ahmad Zubair Murshid has failed to get a discharge not amounting to an acquittal over this criminal breach of trust charges. Session Court judge Murtazadi Amran held that the two CBT charges against him were not defective. On July 17 last year, Ahmad Zubair was charged in the Sessions Court with two counts of CBT involving more than RM100m. The charges were in connection with the acquisition of native customary rights land in Sarikei under the Sarawak Upsteam Expansion Plan. (The Star)
