KL-S'pore high-speed rail link to get SPAD boost

SPAD will speed up the process of kick-starting the high-speed rail (HSR) link between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and ensure it is operational by 2020. CEO Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal said the feasibility study is in its final stage of preparation. The project was agreed in principle between Malaysia and Singapore in Feb-13. According to government sources, the expected cost is RM40bn including rolling stock. It was previously reported that Malaysia may call for an international open tender for the HSR link by end 2013.
