Westports prepares for mergers and acquisitions activities in long-term strategy

One of the main reasons for Westports Holdings Bhd listing is to prepare itself for merger and acquisition activities as part of its long-term growth strategy, said chief executive officer Ruben Emir Gnanalingam. While the port operator’s listing is still pending the Securities Commission’s approval, the draft prospectus was already made available last Friday. “We need to create a profile for the company in the market and that’s why we are going public. In the long run, we would definitely want to bid to be part of other ports in the region when we have reached our full capacity in Port Klang. (Starbiz)
